Wordsmith and shutterbug, I’ve been writing since Mrs. Pedde’s fifth grade class when I learned what a “haiku” was and started scribbling poems in the back of notebooks.
I fell in love with photography in my twenties working as a nanny in Italy, not far from Caserta, the small southern town where my great-grandmother was born. Snap, snap, snap! I captured everything from sleeping cats to narrow alleyways, and the soulful faces of fishermen, and fell in love.
For two decades I’ve worked as a photojournalist for newspapers and magazines on both sides of the ocean, capturing the stories of artists, musicians, and everyday people. I also have experience working with children as a teacher and with the elderly as a community activities director.
These days I specialize in portraits of women; children; families and high school seniors.
I love nothing more than using the city’s beauty as a natural backdrop, capturing its architecture in a vibrant street scene, or shooting in “the golden hour” on a favorite wooded trail or mountain hideaway. I also have a home studio where I work and shoot vintage and fashion photos. For examples of this niche service, visit here.
Feel free to contact me with questions or to talk about your vision. I look forward to meeting you.
